Roderick Williams and the Carducci Quartet: Die schöne Müllerin
Thursday 25 September 2025
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Tender words and shattered hearts: Roderick Williams and the Carducci Quartet perform Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin.
“When love conquers pain, a new star shines in heaven…” Die schone Müllerin is a tale of heartbreak wrung from the most tender depths of the soul, and every performance is an emotional journey. So who better, as companion and guide, than Roderick Williams – the British baritone whose sunlit voice and irrepressible communicative gift have made him one of the 21st century’s best loved singers? For Williams, Schubert’s songs are miniature worlds of colour and expression, and tonight, unusually, he’s joined by the Carducci Quartet – adding a revelatory new dimension to this landmark of Romantic song in Williams’ own string version.
This concert lasts one hour with no interval.
